Chatswood will come alive with colour, culture and community as the annual Lunar Celebrations return across the weekend of Saturday 21 February and Sunday 22 February 2026.

Taking place from 10am–9pm on Saturday and 10am–6pm on Sunday, the celebrations are expected to welcome more than 40,000 visitors each day from across Sydney, making it one of the region’s most vibrant Lunar New Year events.

Across the weekend, visitors can enjoy a full program of festivities, including:

  • Live stage performances throughout the day
  • Over 100 market stalls showcasing food, gifts and cultural offerings
  • A spectacular lantern parade on Saturday evening, bringing the streets to life after dark

Road Closures & Access Information

To safely accommodate the event and large crowds, roads surrounding Chatswood Chase will be closed from 4am on Saturday 21 February until 9pm on Sunday 22 February.

We encourage visitors to plan their journey ahead of time, consider public transport where possible, and allow extra travel time when arriving in the area.

We look forward to welcoming the community to Chatswood Chase for a weekend of celebration, culture and connection as we ring in the Lunar New Year together.
